Feb 2 - Watson Marlow announces that effective immediately, all new pump orders for any Watson Marlow 520, 620 or 720 cased drives pumps will have a five year warranty. Watson Marlow prides itself on building a world-class, quality peristaltic pump and is supporting this claim with an industry leading warranty program. This warranty replaces the previous two year and three year warranty on various cased drive pumps. Specific details are available on the General Policy statement or on the Watson Marlow website.

Jan 29 - Watson Marlow - Though platinum-cured silicone tubing is the industry standard in the pharmaceutical industry, platinum curing, in itself, does not guarantee a high level of tubing purity with low/safe levels of extractables. Watson-Marlow achieves ultimate purity by driving off cytotoxic extractables through post-curing, a process step many tubing manufacturers ignore. Some producers believe post-curing is not necessary, claiming that the naturally lower extractables of platinum-cured tubing (compared with peroxide-cured silicone) is sufficient. This bulletin outlines the importance of post-curing, describing the key effects on the tubing and the key benefits for the user.

Dec 27 - Plas-Tanks is proud to announce that they have succeeded in their efforts to receive the ASME RTP-1 Certificate of Authorization. Similar to the ASME code for metal pressure vessel, RTP-1 is the standard for fiberglass pressure vessels. RTP-1 dictates special rules and stress analysis for materials of construction, design, fabrication, quality control and inspection of equipment.
Plas-Tanks now manufactures fiberglass tanks to ASME codes and the RTP-1 code, and is ISO 9001 certified. All tanks are provided with a standard 3-year warranty.
